Who you are: • Has effective communication skills, both oral and written, • High school diploma/GED preferred, • Minimum of one year restaurant/senior living or equivalent Dietary Aide experience, • Able to see, hear, and communicate clearly, • Able to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor and peers, • Has empathy for the elderly, • Able to plan and organize work, set up trays and plates in accordance with diet orders and interpret specifications and standards, • Able to stand/walk for 100% of the workday, • Able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. independently, • Able to push and pull tray/bus/transport carts weighing up to 150 lbs. independently, • Able to bend, stoop, reach, and balance frequently throughout the workday, • May be exposed to extreme temperatures from the ovens and freezers, • May be exposed to industrial cleaning chemicals Summary: The Dietary Aide is responsible for preparing and serving therapeutic diet trays to health center residents in accordance with posted therapeutic diet menus. Job Expectations: • Exemplify at all times Community standards of cleanliness, sanitation and operational organization, • Responsible for adhering to food quality, appearance and presentation standards at all times, • Produce and serve menu cycle programs that are compliant with required Nutritional/Dietary criteria as required by local regulations and correctly prepare diets provided per Policy and Procedure, • Exhibit cooking standards of speed, accuracy, and efficiency, • Demonstrate knowledge in all areas of cooking preparation and production, • Assist with serving of meals and ware washing as necessary, • Represent the community in a warm and inviting manner, which creates a positive marketing environment, • Supports creating a culture where the business decisions made in this position, along with individual employee engagement, drive top-line revenue and occupancy, • Prepares therapeutic desserts and salads as required, • Serves meals in the health center, • Sets up kitchenette(s) in the health center dining room and breaks down same after meal, • Transports hot and cold foods to and from the health center, • Transports all required non-food items to and from the health center, • Documents food temperatures on a regular basis; adjusting temperatures if necessary, • Maintains assigned workstation in a safe and sanitary condition., • Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by supervisor, • Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned, • Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor Hospitality Focus: Carillon Senior Living fully embraces a culture of hospitality.
