Job Description Job Title: Maintenance Technician Job Description Join a growing maintenance team in a highly automated food production facility that operates on a 2-2-3 schedule. You will work on a variety of equipment, including conveyors, vision systems, suction systems, servo motors, belts, and wrappers, with a strong focus on improving reliability and transitioning from primarily reactive maintenance to a more preventative approach. This role requires strict adherence to food safety protocols and comfort working in a colder production environment. Responsibilities • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on production equipment such as conveyors, vision systems, suction systems, servo motors, belts, and wrapping equipment., • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in an industrial environment and implement effective corrective actions to minimize downtime., • Support the transition from predominantly reactive maintenance to a more preventative and predictive maintenance approach as the team builds out., • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability and consistent production output., • Follow and enforce food safety protocols and plant-specific procedures to maintain a safe and compliant food manufacturing environment., • Work effectively as part of an 8-person maintenance crew, collaborating with other technicians, operators, and supervisors to resolve equipment issues., • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage accurately to support continuous improvement and maintenance planning., • Support highly automated production lines, including a newly added third line, by maintaining automation components and ensuring proper operation of sensors and vision systems., • Respond to equipment breakdowns in a timely manner and prioritize tasks based on production needs and safety considerations., • Adapt to working on both day and night shifts as part of the 2-2-3 schedule, providing consistent maintenance coverage across the facility. Essential Skills • At least 5 years of maintenance experience within an industrial setting, with hands-on exposure to both mechanical and electrical systems., • Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical and electrical issues on production and packaging equipment., • Experience working on conveyors, servo motors, belts, wrappers, and automated production lines., • Ability to work with and maintain vision systems and sensors used in automated equipment., • Demonstrated ability to perform effective reactive maintenance while supporting a shift toward preventative maintenance., • Knowledge of and adherence to food safety protocols in a food manufacturing environment., • Comfort working in a colder production environment typical of food processing facilities., • Ability to work independently with minimal training, using prior experience to make sound maintenance decisions., • Willingness and ability to work a 2-2-3 schedule with 12-hour shifts (5 a.m.–5 p.m. and 5 p.m.–5 a.m.). Additional Skills & Qualifications • Previous maintenance experience in a food production or food processing facility., • Experience supporting highly automated production lines with conveyors, servo motors, photo-eyes, and vision systems., • Familiarity with working in a team-based maintenance department of similar size., • Comfort working under a new maintenance leadership structure focused on building out the team and improving processes. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $72800.00/yr.
