Job Description Job Title: Assembler Job Description This role focuses on assembling aerospace structures, systems, and components for commercial, business, regional, and military applications. You perform pre-assembly tasks such as drilling and deburring parts, then assemble component parts by installing ground studs, attaching nut plates, bonding, riveting, and countersinking. You use hand and pneumatic tools, precision measuring instruments, and aerospace blueprints and schematics to produce high-quality sheet metal assemblies. The team trains you on specific aerospace processes, so candidates with mechanical aptitude, a strong work ethic, and a desire to learn are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities • Perform pre-assembly operations including drilling, deburring, and preparing sheet metal parts for final assembly., • Assemble component parts by installing ground studs, attaching nut plates, and bonding parts according to work instructions and blueprints., • Carry out riveting and countersinking operations using hand and pneumatic tools, drill guns, and squeeze rivets., • Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, shim gauges, and height gauges to verify part dimensions and tolerances., • Read, interpret, and follow aerospace blueprints, schematics, and written work instructions to complete assemblies accurately., • Work hands-on in a fast-paced production environment, meeting quality and throughput goals while maintaining safety standards., • Operate drills and other basic hand and power tools to cut, shape, and fasten sheet metal components., • Complete initial training tasks such as working on nut plates, rivets, drill guns, and squeeze rivets during the first week., • Communicate effectively with team members and leads to clarify instructions, ask questions, and resolve issues promptly., • Maintain an organized work area, follow established manufacturing processes, and contribute to a clean and efficient shop environment. Essential Skills • 1–2 years of assembly experience with sheet metal or closely related mechanical work., • Experience with production assembly, particularly involving steel or sheet metal components., • Ability to perform riveting and countersinking operations with consistent quality., • Proficiency using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers to inspect parts., • Ability to read and understand aerospace blueprints, schematics, and detailed work instructions., • Mechanical aptitude, including comfort working with hand and power tools and performing hands-on tasks., • Prior experience using common hand tools and drills, with the ability to describe how you have used them in previous roles or projects., • Ability to read and speak English to follow instructions and communicate with the team., • Effective communication skills and willingness to ask questions and stay engaged., • Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and strong motivation to grow in a manufacturing environment., • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and safety. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Prior aerospace assembly experience, especially with sheet metal components, is highly valued., • Experience with squeezing operations and other aerospace fastening techniques., • Experince as an auto technician, composite assembler, or similar mechanical trade is welcome., • Mechanical inclination demonstrated through hobbies or training, such as working on cars, robotics, shop class, or other hands-on projects., • Experience using shim gauges and height gauges to verify part dimensions and fit., • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, contributing to a collaborative environment., • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a production setting., • Self-awareness of strengths and areas for improvement, with a desire to continuously develop skills., • High school graduates and individuals with prior experience in fast-paced work environments, including food service, are encouraged to apply. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
