Job DescriptionElectro-Mechanical Assembler II | $25-32/Hr | 1st Shift | Carlsbad, CA Job Description This role focuses on electronic and electro-mechanical assembly of products and sub-assemblies in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will build products using pulley and cable systems, machined components, and integrated circuits, following written work instructions, standard operating procedures, and Operational Method Sheets to ensure quality, accuracy, and efficiency. The position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work across different stations on the production line, and a commitment to continuous improvement and safety. Schedule: • 1st Shift: Monday - Friday : 6:00am - 2:30pm (+OT when needed) Responsibilities • Assemble electronic and electro-mechanical products and sub-assemblies using pulley and cable systems, machined parts, integrated circuits, wiring, and mechanical components., • Perform mechanical assembly tasks using basic hand and power tools in accordance with established routing times and Operational Method Sheets (OMS) to ensure proper form, fit, and function., • Follow written work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to complete assembly tasks consistently and accurately., • Conduct product inspections to verify quality, identify defects, and ensure assembled items meet required standards., • Complete required station audits, including Tool Audits, Kanban Health Audits, and Card Audits, at the beginning and end of work at a station., • Capture quality issues, test data, and continuous improvement opportunities within the PA Dashboard or other designated systems., • Process Kanban cards accurately to maintain transactional integrity and ensure correct quantities of items are assembled, labeled, and available at each station., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in line with 6S principles and participate actively in 6S activities., • Identify and escalate quality issues, defects, process discrepancies, and safety concerns to Leads or Supervisors when needed., • Recognize incorrect process documentation and propose updates through the redlining process to keep procedures current and accurate., • Demonstrate engagement in continuous improvement activities and contribute ideas to improve processes, quality, and efficiency., • Move up and down the production line as needed, support different stations, and accept other duties as assigned to help fill resource gaps., • Stay current on processes, certifications, and required training to sustain performance in trained areas and support division priorities and goals., • Apply division and department priorities, metrics, and NBS Next principles to daily activities and decision making, seeking clarification when needed., • Show respect for colleagues, demonstrate positive interpersonal skills, and provide or accept constructive feedback in a professional manner., • Ensure successful and timely completion of all required training in designated systems and maintain regular, punctual attendance., • Work extended hours and overtime outside the regular shift schedule when required by operational needs., • Lift and handle components and assemblies weighing 25 pounds or more safely and in accordance with facility guidelines. Essential Skills • At least 5 years of mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing environment., • Proven ability to perform mechanical assembly tasks using basic hand tools and power tools., • Experience assembling electronic or electro-mechanical products, including wiring and electronic assembly., • Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, blueprints, work instructions, SOPs, and technical documentation., • Strong attention to detail with a consistent focus on product quality and accuracy., • Simple oral communication skills to interact effectively with team members and supervisors., • Visual acuity and manual dexterity to perform detailed assembly and inspection work., • Basic computer skills and the ability to navigate programs for data entry, audits, and training., • Reliability and willingness to work extended hours and overtime as required by operational needs., • Ability to lift 25 pounds or more safely as part of regular assembly and production tasks., • Advanced ability to perform the roles and responsibilities of an assembler and demonstrate expertise in trained areas. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience working in a structured production or manufacturing environment., • Familiarity with Kanban systems and card processing for material and workflow management., • Intermediate understanding of quality notification (QN) processes and the ability to identify and submit quality issues., • Comfort using basic hand and power tools for mechanical and electronic assembly., • Understanding of 6S principles and willingness to participate in and uphold 6S activities., • Ability to recognize incorrect process documentation and contribute to improvements through redlining., • Intermediate understanding of division and department priorities, goals, and metrics., • Openness to learning, innovation, and operational changes, with a positive attitude toward continuous improvement., • Ability to provide informal guidance to less experienced employees based on proven expertise. Work Environment This position is based in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a brand-new, very clean, and well-ventilated building and a large production floor. All production associates wear smocks and safety glasses provided on-site, and each new employee receives a personal locker to secure belongings. The standard schedule is first shift, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with overtime as needed to meet operational demands. Work involves standing at assembly stations, moving along the production line, using basic hand and power tools, and handling mechanical and electronic components in a structured, safety-focused setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Carlsbad, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
