The Director of Nursing provides strategic and operational leadership for nursing and medical operations across the organization. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care through effective workforce management, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and staff development. In partnership with clinical and administrative leadership, the Director supports consistent, compliant, and patient-centered care delivery across all sites in alignment with FQHC requirements and organizational goals. • Nursing Operations & Oversight, • Provide leadership and supervision of all nursing and medical assistance staff., • Ensure clinical workflows, staffing models, and operational practices support safe and efficient patient care delivery., • Ensure nursing and medical assistant staff effectively support the clinics' providers and other clinical team members in delivering high-quality, coordinated, and patient-centered care., • Standardize clinical processes, protocols, and workflows to promote consistency and quality across the organization., • Monitor clinical performance indicators and recommend operations improvements., • Acts as primary nursing liaison between Advantage Care and outside agencies or partners as needed., • Coordinate and run daily medical team huddle., • Regulatory Compliance & Quality, • Ensure compliance with HRSE, NY DOH, OSHA, CDC, and other applicable federal and state regulations affecting nursing services., • Prepare clinical and other staff for audits, site visits, and inspections. Participate in corrective action planning as needed., • Maintain and update clinical policies, procedures, and documentation standards., • Support organization quality improvement and risk management initiatives related to clinical services., • Uses root cause analysis to determine areas of opportunity to improve workflow and departmental growth., • Coordinate annual patient centered medical home application., • Oversee HEDIS measure tracking and reporting to Quality Assurance Committee and Health Plans., • Staff Management & Development, • Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention strategies for nursing and medical assistant staff., • Oversee performance evaluations, coaching, corrective action, and disciplinary processes in collaboration with human resources., • Develop and implement education programs for all health center staff as needed., • Ensure appropriate staffing coverage based on patient volume and operational needs., • Collaboration & Organizational Support, • Partner with administrative leadership to align clinical operations with organizational objectives., • Serve as a resource on nursing practice standards, workforce compliance, and operational processes., • Contribute to strategic planning., • Participate in leadership meetings, committee, and organizational initiatives as assigned., • Participate in community outreach initiatives as developed by the Center as needed., • Other Duties, • Perform other related duties as assigned in support of organizational operations and patient care objectives., • Provides care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that is sensitive to the patient's and family's diversity, preserving their autonomy, dignity, and rights., • Maintains current competency in nursing specialty by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies., • Flexibility to work in both health center locations as assigned., • May be required to conducts normal RN activities within scope of practices as needed:, • Prepare exam rooms, • Interview patients, • Measure vital signs and record in EMR, • Clean and sterilize instruments, • Operate EKG and other diagnostic testing, • Administer vaccinations as ordered by providers, • Perform routine laboratory tests, • FIT testing, • Oversee/maintain logbooks for quality control, • Perform medication and procedure prior authorization, • Chronic Care Management, • Pre-visit planning, • ER/Hospital/Urgent Care Discharge planning, care coordination and transition of care, • Utilize NYSIIS for immunization tracking/upload., • Oversee inventory and order medical supplies and materials, • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required, • 5 years of Supervisory experiences., • Current license as Registered Professional Nurse in New York State., • Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience including at least 5 years in a supervisory or administrative capacity., • Excellent verbal and written communication skills., • Strong oral, written and organizational skills, • Proficient computer skills., • Committed and effective team worker., • Strong commitment to the provision of quality medical care for medically underserved individuals., • Proven capacity to work productively in highly collaborative settings and to seek and synthesize input from multiple stakeholders., • CPR certified., • Knowledge of Public Health practices/procedures, HRSA regulations, federal regulations and EMR (ECW)., • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish), a plus.
