Food first mentality is at the core of our chef driven kitchen. \n Line Chef opportunities are offered in a part time capacity. Flexible hours and scheduling are available, which is great for the busy student or anyone who has outside obligations. Room for advancement on the team is always a possibility for the right team member! \n \n \n Required Duties and Responsibilities: \n\n • Arrives to work on time, well-groomed in a clean uniform for every shift\n, • Always demonstrates a positive attitude, willing to help out where needed\n, • Follows all Walk-On’s safety, sanitation, and employee guidelines\n, • Follows day prep sheet and completes all duties assigned\n, • Sets up sani-buckets, maintains a clean work area during the shift\n, • Follows proper food rotation, understands how to date and label all items (both prepped and un-prepped)\n, • Strictly adheres to Walk-On’s recipes and procedures when preparing any food items\n, • Practices “clean as you go” techniques to avoid cross contamination\n, • Assists and completes the daily line checklist for shift readiness\n, • Can complete requirements of job without constant supervision\n, • Able to use a scale for proper portioning\n, • Calibrates bio-thermometers and scales for accurate results\n, • Follows all HACCP guidelines for heating and cooling of food products\n, • Assists in checking in, unloading, dating, rotating, and storage of all delivered products\n, • Assist other employees to complete any tasks during shift\n, • Dumps trash and cardboard from kitchen into proper receptacles in the back of the restaurant\n, • Must have reliable transportation to and from work\n, • Must adhere to uniform guidelines\n\n \n Requirements \n Physical requirements for this position include: \n\n • Continuous standing (up to 10+ hours), bending, lifting/ carrying items (up to 60 pounds)\n, • Exposure to heat (up to 100 F or more)\n, • Ability to read recipes, prep sheets, charts in English, understand measuring ingredients by weight and by volume, able to use ounce and pound scales for measuring\n, • Able to operate a slicer for cutting meats, cheeses, and vegetables (must be 18 years of age to operate the slicer)\n, • Able to hear and respond to calls made in kitchen in English.\n, • Must be able to competently operate fryers, char-grill, flat top grill, and slicer and any other BOH equipment and accurately and timely prepare all food items as orders are registered.\n\n Must possess the following qualities \n\n • Winning personality\n, • Consistent positive attitude\n, • Teamwork mentality\n\n \n Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is not required but is preferred.
