Job Description The Role The Director of Construction leads all field execution for Seasafe Homes, from construction start through final walkthrough and warranty close-out. This is a hands-on leadership role that balances time between the jobsite and the office, and works closely with ownership, finance, the off-site Build Center, and on-site field teams to deliver predictable, quality builds. Key Responsibilities • Spend time on active jobsites working alongside Superintendents to set the standard for how work should be done and to catch coordination and quality issues early., • Lead and develop a team of on-site Superintendents; serve as the primary field escalation point for schedule, quality, and safety issues., • Daily Buildertrend usage: ability to personally build and edit project schedules and Gantt charts, send client updates through Buildertrend's reporting tools, and drive consistent adoption and discipline with the field team. This is a core daily function of the role, not a delegated task., • Run a consistent, structured meeting cadence including pre-set planning, weekly project meetings, and coordination across engineering, field Superintendents, and design/procurement., • Hold go/no-go authority at the pre-construction-to-construction handoff, confirming site, crane, and set readiness before construction begins., • Coordinate the transport and set logistics for modular transport, crane operations, and set days, including staging-area planning and sequencing on site., • Own the approved subcontractor and vendor list, vendor qualification standards, and trade partner onboarding. Proactively building and maintaining crew and trade capacity ahead of need rather than reacting to shortages., • See across multiple active projects at once to allocate time, attention, and resources where they're needed most., • Approve change orders within an established authority threshold, weighing quality, price, and schedule impact. Partner with Finance on job costing and larger change orders., • Determine warranty claim coverage and authorize covered warranty repairs; own client communication through construction and the warranty period to give clients clear, relevant updates., • Track permits, inspections, and quality control; enforce jobsite safety standards with authority to stop work for safety or quality issues. What Success Looks Like • Consistent, visible time on active jobsites, with Superintendents who can point to specific ways this role has coached and developed them., • Buildertrend schedules and Gantt charts that are built, edited, and kept current by this role personally, with client updates going out through Buildertrend's reporting tools., • A predictable, structured meeting cadence across set planning, engineering, field Supers, and design/procurement. No recurring surprises from dropped coordination., • Projects move from permit to Certificate of Occupancy on a predictable schedule, with strong first-attempt inspection pass rates., • Subcontractor and vendor capacity that's proactively built ahead of need., • Fast, well-documented resolution of warranty claims and steady, well-calibrated client communication. Qualifications • 5+ years of progressive construction leadership experience, including direct, hands-on oversight of field teams — this is a role that requires real time on jobsites, not primarily office-based supervision., • Deep, verifiable fluency in Buildertrend or a directly comparable scheduling platform with ability to personally build and edit schedules and Gantt charts and use automated client-reporting tools. Candidates should expect to demonstrate this directly as part of the interview process., • Demonstrated ability to run structured, recurring meetings and keep cross-functional coordination (engineering, field, design/procurement) on track., • Track record of proactive subcontractor/vendor capacity planning., • Sound judgment on cost/quality/schedule trade-offs. Comfortable making a judgement call., • Strong client-facing communication, including the ability to de-escalate difficult situations and to communicate at the right level of detail., • Coastal, elevated, or modular construction experience preferred., • A general contractor's license is not required for this role., • Bachelor's degree a plus, not required. Compensation Final compensation will be based on applicant qualifications. Here is an example: Total compensation package: $141,000 annually — $120,000 base salary ($10,000/month), $9,000 vehicle allowance ($750/month), and $12,000 health insurance allowance ($1,000/month) — plus a performance-based bonus of $3,000 per completed project, paid on client sign-off. \nCompany Description Seasafe Homes designs and builds elevated, flood-resistant homes in coastal Florida using a Two-Site Construction process.
