Job duties include but are not limited to: • Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans, using dishwashers or by hand., • Place clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage areas., • Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition., • Stock supplies, such as food or utensils, in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, or salad bars., • Sweep or scrub floors., • Clean garbage cans with water or steam., • Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas., • Lift or carry heavy weight objects, such as trash bags or food storage container, • Other duties, as needed Qualifications: • Must have weekend availability and work a minimum of 3 shifts per week, • Must be able to work with a team, • Must be able to follow sanitation protocol Physical Requirements: • Spend time bending or twisting the body, • Spend time lifting heavy weight, • Spend time standing on feet for long hours, • Spend time using hands to handle, control, or feel objects/tools Busboys and Poets owns and operates 8 multi-concept restaurant, bar, event and bookstore spaces in DC, Maryland and Virginia. Job duties include but are not limited to: • Setting up the bar daily or during transition for the PM shift, • Guiding guests through menus while demonstrating a thorough knowledge of our items, • Taking accurate orders and working with other tribe members to serve food and beverages that exceed guest expectations, • Check patrons' identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages., • Mixing alcoholic beverages and preparing coffee drinks such as lattes and signature drinks., • Provide excellent customer service with a smile! This includes 90 second greeting times, 3 minute-3 bite check in and closing down service by collecting payment and making it an experience that keeps guests coming back., • Assist in tasks to ensure a clean, sanitized, and safe restaurant including: washing dishes, glassware or other utensils, wiping down all surfaces on the bar and behind the bar, maintaining cleanliness overall and health and food service regulations behind the bar and for bar guests., • Assist host or hostess by answering phones to take reservations or to-go orders, and by greeting, seating, and thanking guests, when needed., • Taking tables on the floor when bar service is slow or when staffing is short Qualifications: • Must be at least 21 years of age in order to serve alcohol, • General alcohol knowledge needed, • Previous experience bartending in a full service restaurant for at least a year, • Must have weekend availability and work a minimum of 3 shifts per week, • Must love talking to people! Stock cabinets or serving areas with condiments and refill condiment containers., • Serve ice water, coffee, rolls, or butter to patrons when required, • Fill beverage or ice dispensers, • Serve food to customers when food runners, bartenders or servers need assistance, • Clean and polish counters, shelves, walls, furniture, or equipment in food service areas or other areas of restaurants and mop or vacuum floors. Job duties include but are not limited to: • Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans, using dishwashers or by hand., • Place clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage areas., • Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition., • Stock supplies, such as food or utensils, in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, or salad bars., • Sweep or scrub floors., • Clean garbage cans with water or steam., • Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas., • Lift or carry heavy weight objects, such as trash bags or food storrage containers Qualifications: • Must have weekend availability and work a minimum of 3 shifts per week, • Must be able to work with a team, • Must be able to follow sanitation protocol Physical Requirements: • Spend time bending or twisting the body, • Spend time lifting heavy weight, • Spend time standing on feet for long hours, • Spend time using hands to handle, control, or feel objects/tools Busboys and Poets owns and operates 8 multi-concept restaurant, bar, event and bookstore spaces in DC, Maryland and Virginia.
