    Summary We are currently looking for a Garden/Grounds Maintenance Operative to maintain and enhance gardens, landscape and outdoor areas of a diverse portfolio of residential and commercial properties across Shropshire area. The role requires some general basic property maintenance such as carpentry, decoration and plumbing tasks. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with a passion for outdoor work and hands-on approach to maintenance. You will be adaptable and pro-active individual, who can use their own initiative, as well as contributing effectively as part of a collaborative team. Travel is required between multiple properties, primarily in Telford, Newport, Shrewsbury, however you may, from time to time, be required to travel within West Midlands. Main responsibilities: Gardening & Grounds Maintenance: • Mow, edge and maintain lawns., • Maintain landscape areas; plant, water, weed, prune shrubs, hedges and flowers., • Keep paths, patios and outdoor areas clean, tidy and free from hazards. • Carry out seasonal gardening tasks including leaf clearance and winter preparation., • Remove and dispose of garden waste responsibly., • Monitor the condition of plants, trees, lawns, fencing, paths and outdoor features and report any issues., • Operate and maintain garden equipment such as lawn mowers, hedge cutters, leaf blowers., • Follow health and safety procedures when using tools, machinery and chemicals., • Report any maintenance issues, damaged equipment or safety concerns. General Property Maintenance: • Undertake basic repairs to fencing, gates, sheds and other outdoor structures., • Carry out minor repairs and general maintenance which include basic plumbing, carpentry such as replace handles or fittings, painting and decorating., • Identify maintenance issues and report any work requiring for specialist contractors., • Operate and maintain tools and equipment, adhering to health and safety procedures and reporting any issues or concerns. Essential skills and experience: • Previous experience in a similar role gaining practical knowledge of grounds maintenance and gardening., • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions., • Previous experience of safely using a range of hand tools, power tools and garden machinery., • Good working knowledge and understanding of health and safety requirements. • Basic carpentry, plumbing, decoration skills., • Practical and flexible to manage a range of tasks., • Good attention to detail in maintaining high standards., • A positive and professional approach., • Full UK driving licence., • DBS checks. Desirable experience: • Experience working across multiple sites or within a property portfolio., • Relevant qualifications or health and safety training such as first aid.

Haymist House (opening 2026) is a 3-bed children residential home Telford, specialising in children age 8-17 (any gender) living with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).As we prepare to embark on this new adventure, we are seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Manager to lead the service from the ground up- contributing to the design of the home and the service, recruiting and shaping the team, forging partnerships with the commissioners. Duties Responsibilities • Lead and supervise a team of care staff, ensuring the delivery of personalised and compassionate care to children., • Develop, implement, and review individualised care plans tailored to each child's specific needs, • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child protection, safeguarding, and health & safety., • Oversee medication administration in accordance with prescribed protocols and maintain accurate records., • Coordinate with healthcare professionals, families, and external agencies to support children's health and development needs., • Monitor the quality of care provided, conducting regular audits and assessments to uphold high standards., • Manage staffing rotas, organise training sessions, and promote continuous professional development within the team., • Handle administrative duties related to care documentation whilst maintaining confidentiality at all times., • Foster an inclusive environment that promotes dignity, respect, and independence for children with diverse backgrounds and needs. Requirements • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) or equivalent., • Minimum 2 years experience in managing a children`s residential setting., • In depth knowledge of Children`s Homes Regulation 2025, Quality Standards, Safeguarding procedures, Ofsted Inspection frameworks., • Experience working with children with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD), trauma or complex needs., • Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively., • Excellent organisational skills with experience in developing and managing care plans., • Compassionate nature with a commitment to delivering person-centred care tailored to individual needs., • Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism. This is a great opportunity for setting up a flagship home, which will be the model of development for additional projects.
