Fleet & Transport Manager Location: Southampton, Hampshire Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Schedule: MondayFriday | 40 hours per week About the Role We are recruiting for an experienced Fleet & Transport Manager to join a growing UK utility infrastructure business, responsible for the safe, compliant and efficient management of its fleet, transport, plant and equipment operations. You will be responsible for the day-to-day and strategic management of fleet, transport, plant and equipment, ensuring the operation remains safe, compliant, efficient and commercially effective. The role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced Fleet Manager or Transport Manager to take ownership of fleet strategy, compliance, maintenance, driver performance and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities • Manage Operator Licence compliance and support the business towards Earned Recognition, • Ensure vehicles, plant, tools and equipment meet all statutory and compliance requirements, • Manage fleet maintenance, inspections, testing and calibration, • Maximise fleet and plant availability, • Manage fleet suppliers, contracts and service providers, • Promote a strong health and safety culture, • Manage road traffic collisions, investigations, repairs and driver debriefs, • Investigate driver incidents, complaints and Notices of Intended Prosecution, • Lead the vehicle replacement programme, • Manage vehicle specification, fit-out, telematics and branding, • Produce and monitor fleet KPIs and performance reports, • Lead, coach and develop the Transport team, • Manage vehicle and plant hire requirements, • Support budgeting, cost control and supplier performance, • Drive continuous improvement across fleet safety, compliance and operational efficiency, • Ensure fleet systems and data remain accurate, • Monitor changes to transport legislation and industry best practice Key Requirements • Experience within Fleet Management or Transport Management, • Strong knowledge of Operator Licence compliance, • Good understanding of UK transport legislation, • Transport Manager CPC Essential, • Experience managing a diverse fleet, • Strong supplier and contract management experience, • Excellent leadership and people management skills, • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, • Experience with fleet management systems and Microsoft Office, • Full UK Driving Licence Desirable: IOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification Salary & Benefits • Salary - £50,000 - £60,000 per annum, • MondayFriday | circa 40 hours per week, • Day shift, • Flexible start and finish times, • 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays, • Christmas shutdown, • Salary sacrifice pension, • Perkboxbenefits, • Death in Service insurance, • Health & wellbeing support, • Company sick pay, • Company events, • Excellent training and development opportunities, • Long-term career progression The Opportunity This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Fleet Manager, Transport Manager or Fleet & Transport Manager to join a growing UK business and play a key role in the development of its fleet and transport operation.
