Our client is a well-established and highly respected structural steel fabrication and construction business, supplying and erecting fabricated steelwork across the UK and Ireland. Due to continued expansion, they are seeking an Inspection and Testing Engineer with a Mechanical Engineering background to join their busy Construction team.This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced Engineer to join a growing and ambitious business, working closely with Project Managers and Site Managers to ensure inspection and testing requirements are met across projects.Inspection And Testing Engineer - Position Remuneration£45,000-£50,000 depending on experienceMonday to Friday, full-timeKey role within a growing and ambitious structural steel contractorPrivate healthcare and additional employee benefitsSalary sacrifice pension schemeEmployee discounts and company benefitsInspection And Testing Engineer - Position OverviewConduct statutory thorough examinations and inspections on all types of equipment, including lifting equipment, work equipment, structural supports, plant and access equipmentReport inspection findings in accordance with relevant legislation, regulations and standards, including LOLER 1998 and PUWER 1998Advise and support customers regarding their legal obligations under relevant regulationsPrepare detailed and compliant inspection reports and ensure all documentation meets internal and regulatory standardsRecommend corrective actions or repairs where equipment or structures are found to be non-compliant or unsafeMaintain up-to-date knowledge of industry legislation, standards and best practice, including LOLER, PUWER and BS EN 1090Communicate inspection results clearly and professionally to clients, providing expert guidance on ongoing compliance and safety requirementsCollaborate with Engineers, Site Managers and Fabricators to coordinate inspections during manufacturing, assembly and installation phasesWork closely with Project Managers, Site Managers and other key stakeholders to ensure inspection and testing activities are completed in line with project schedules and programme demandsIdentify and report unsafe conditions or practices promptly, promoting a safety-first cultureMaintain accurate records of inspections, examinations and associated documentationReport any issues or concerns to the relevant Project Manager or Site ManagerLead by example and promote safe working practices, following procedures and relevant health and safety requirementsInspection And Testing Engineer - Position RequirementsMechanical Engineering background with a relevant Engineering qualification or experiencePrevious experience within an Inspection, Testing, Engineering or Compliance environmentExperience conducting thorough examinations and inspections on lifting equipment, work equipment, plant or access equipmentStrong knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and standards, including LOLER 1998 and PUWER 1998Knowledge of BS EN 1090 would be advantageousPrevious experience within a structural steel or construction environment would be desirable but is not essentialExcellent attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and complianceExcellent problem-solving and analytical skillsGood communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and site teamsAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of a teamConscientious, hardworking, flexible and safety awareAbility to manage a varied workload, work to tight deadlines and prioritise workload effectivelyProactive approach with a willingness to identify opportunities for improvementStreamline Search is a technical recruitment agency based in Chichester, West Sussex operating across the United Kingdom.
