We are seeking a highly motivated and commercially focused Catastrophe Modelling Lead to establish and develop a best-in-class catastrophe modelling function supporting the Delegated Authority broking business within Burns & Wilcox Global Solutions (BWGS), while also providing catastrophe pricing support for our MGA business RB Jones Global Solutions (RBJGS) for selected programmes. \n \n This is a unique opportunity for an individual with experience in catastrophe modelling who is looking to take ownership of a growing function and shape how catastrophe analytics are delivered across the organisation. \n \n The successful candidate will be responsible for embedding catastrophe modelling into underwriting and broking decision-making, developing innovative and automated workflows, and leveraging technology to create scalable solutions that improve analytical quality, efficiency and business insight. \n \n The role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, stakeholder management, commercial awareness and entrepreneurial thinking. \n \n The compensation noted is base salary, the bonus is additional. \n \n Responsibilities \n\n • Lead catastrophe modelling activities across Burns & Wilcox Global Solutions (BWGS), with primary responsibility for delegated authority and binder business.\n, • Support RB Jones Global Solutions (RBJGS) with catastrophe pricing, portfolio analytics and exposure management across selected programmes.\n, • Establish and develop a catastrophe modelling function that supports underwriting, broking, portfolio management and strategic decision-making.\n, • Act as a trusted business partner to broking, underwriting and capacity management teams.\n, • Drive innovation through automated workflows, data solutions, reporting capabilities and enhanced catastrophe analytics.\n, • Produce portfolio insights to support risk selection, accumulation management and carrier engagement.\n\n \n Duties and Key Responsibilities as Catastrophe Modelling Lead within the Actuarial Centre of Excellence \n\n • Own catastrophe modelling analyses across BWGS delegated authority portfolios.\n, • Perform programme and portfolio modelling to assess catastrophe exposures and accumulations.\n, • Support broker and carrier discussions through catastrophe analytics.\n, • Design and implement automated catastrophe modelling workflows.\n, • Develop Python-based tools, dashboards and Power BI reporting.\n, • Establish catastrophe modelling standards, controls and governance.\n, • Build the function from the ground up and develop a future capability roadmap.\n\n \n Experience, Skills and Competencies Required \n\n • Catastrophe modelling experience within insurance, reinsurance, MGA or broking environments. You should be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of catastrophe modelling, exposure management and risk analytics particularly in relation to delegated authority and binder business (BWGS) and catastrophe pricing, portfolio analytics for underwriting.\n, • Experience using RMS, AIR/Verisk or equivalent catastrophe modelling platforms.\n, • Proficiency in Python and/or SQL and workflow automation.\n, • Strong business partnering and communication skills.\n, • Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to build new capabilities from scratch.\n\n \n INDIVIDUAL CONDUCT RULES \n\n • You must act with integrity.\n, • You must act with due care, skill and diligence.\n, • You must be open and cooperative with regulators.\n, • You must pay due regard to the interests of customers and treat them fairly.\n, • You must observe proper standards of market conduct.\n\n
