About the role Working a 4 on 4 off night shift pattern (18:00–06:00), you'll lead a team of between 3 and 8 warehouse operatives, ensuring customer orders are picked accurately, completed on time, and delivered in line with service level requirements. You'll play a key role in maintaining picking accuracy, developing team capability, and ensuring stock integrity across the operation. You will be responsible for: Supervising, supporting, and developing the night picking team to achieve operational and customer service targets Ensuring customer orders are picked accurately, completed on time, and checked against documentation before dispatch Monitoring picking performance, identifying root causes of errors, and implementing corrective actions to improve accuracy Managing stock checks, investigating discrepancies, and ensuring warehouse systems accurately reflect physical stock Generating dispatch documentation, pick sheets, and supporting the setup of the following day's operation Planning labour resources to maintain productivity and hygiene standards within the department Conducting onboarding, training, appraisals, and performance reviews while supporting wider warehouse activities when required About you You'll ideally have previous experience in a warehouse, order picking, or supervisory role, with knowledge of Oracle systems and chilled warehouse operations being highly advantageous. Forklift and Powered Pallet Truck licences are welcome but not essential. You’ll be a logical thinker with strong problem-solving skills and confidence working with operational data, spreadsheets, and warehouse systems. Good numeracy, communication, and basic written English skills are essential, along with the ability to remain calm under pressure during peak trading periods. You'll thrive in this role if you're able to gain the respect of your team through positive leadership, clear communication, and leading by example.
