SEND Specialist Tutor - Hebburn Prospero Teaching are partnered with Local Councils, SEND teams, and schools throughout the UK. We are currently experiencing a high demand for one-to-one and small-group SEND Specialist Tutors who have experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in the Hebburn area. The Opportunity Year 5 - Female Hours - x3 per week (2x 1.5-hour sessions) SEN Needs - ASD, Anxiety, sensory processing difficulties, Demand avoidant Subjects - English and Maths Requirements - QTS, SPLD or high level of experience working with both Autistic and demand avoidant students We have received a referral for this student due to start in September, with 2 x 1.5-hour sessions per week initially, focusing on English and Maths, tuition alongside 30 minutes of work around executive functioning. The student is working towards age related expectations, but her current level is significantly delayed right now across literacy and numeracy skills, although it is not clear that this is as a direct result of her thinking and reasoning abilities. Conducting planned maintenance activities, including fire alarm testing, emergency lighting checks, and water hygiene monitoring. Carrying out regular building patrols to identify maintenance needs and health & safety risks. Completing scheduled flat inspections and addressing any identified issues promptly. Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance activities, including gas safety inspections and PAT testing. Ensuring all property documentation files are up-to-date and compliant. Adhering to health and safety policies, including managing risk assessments and method statements. Engaging with students to understand and address their needs. Key Requirements: To excel in this role, you should have: A relevant qualification in plumbing, joinery, or electrical systems (preferred). Previous experience in domestic electrical/plumbing/general maintenance. Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. The ability to prioritise your own workload effectively. A willingness to work collaboratively with the team, including covering reception and admin duties.
