    Location: Croydon and surrounding areas Employment Type: (Full-time & Part-time) Join Our Caring Team Sunbird Care Ltd is looking for a caring, reliable and motivated Care Worker / Support Worker to join our team and provide high-quality, person-centred care to our Service Users. We are particularly interested in candidates who drive and live in or close to Croydon, as the role involves travelling to support Service Users in their homes and within the community. About the Role As a Care Worker / Support Worker, you will provide compassionate support that promotes the dignity, independence, privacy, choice and wellbeing of Service Users. Your responsibilities will include: • Providing personal care and support to Service Users with a range of needs, illnesses and disabilities., • Supporting with washing, bathing, dressing and toileting., • Assisting Service Users with mobility and physical disabilities., • Using manual handling equipment safely and correctly., • Following good infection prevention and control practices., • Supporting Service Users with their care and support plans., • Assisting with medication where required and within the agreed level of support., • Preparing food and drinks according to individual preferences, nutritional needs and cultural requirements., • Providing companionship and emotional support., • Supporting Service Users to maintain contact with family and friends., • Accompanying Service Users on trips and activities in the community., • Maintaining accurate care and medication records., • Reporting concerns regarding the health, wellbeing, behaviour or safety of Service Users., • Maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding Service Users from abuse., • Following health and safety procedures, Sunbird Care policies and relevant care standards., • Attending training and team meetings and being committed to continuous learning. Role purpose To care for all Young people and Children within the residential home and ensure that they are always safe, well cared for and that you are working collaboratively with these young people/children to achieve their goals. Main Duties • Undertake all duties and responsibilities in accordance with: company policies, procedures, protocols, guidelines, standards; good professional practice,, CQC and other regulatory requirements, relevant legislations, all legal and contractual obligations., • Provide advice, information and support to the residents., • To support and provide care for the young people/children in the home by assisting them with; bathing, eating, homework, education, behaviour, money management, travel training etc., • Ensure resident’s follow the homes rules and support the manager in investigating and taking action where these may have been breached., • Manage challenging behaviour which may require physical intervention to appropriately support the child/ young person., • Oversee the maintenance of accurate client records and databases and provide statistics for management and to assist with service evaluation in a timely fashion., • Support clients with the prompting of their medication, conduct accurate and timely medication audits and maintain accurate medication records., • Complete written documentation (support plans, Medication sheets, risk assessments) regarding the young people/ children to help and ensure their safety and development within our setting., • Take part in regular team meetings to discuss the residents, the progress that they are making, how their general well-being is as well as forming action plans to support them further., • Attend professionals meetings (where appropriate)., • Assist in the transfer of individuals between agencies and services. Health and Safety • To be familiar with Health and Safety Regulations, policies and procedures and ensure they are adhered to within your own area of responsibility., • To be aware of and follow fire policies and procedures, ensuring safety of residents and workers safety and welfare at all times.
