Our mission is to enhance customer experiences through innovative ventilation design and solutions. \n \n Location: Crawley \n Hours of work: Monday to Thursday 8.45am – 4.55pm, Friday 8.45am – 4.25pm \n Package: Salary dependent on experience, Technical Bonus, Annual leave 25 days plus bank holidays, Company Pension, Life Assurance, EAP. \n \n The Role: \n Reporting to the Technical Managers as a Design Engineer, you will be generating solutions to product design problems from concept through to production, including CAD modelling (Autodesk Inventor), 2D drawing and analysis (e.g. FEA & CFD) skills. \n \n Key responsibilities: \n\n • Develop ventilation products from initial concept through design, validation and introduction into production.\n, • Create detailed 3D CAD models of components and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor.\n, • Design plastic injection-moulded, sheet-metal and other manufactured components using appropriate engineering materials and processes.\n, • Build and maintain complex CAD assemblies containing multiple components and subassemblies.\n, • Produce accurate part and assembly drawings to BS 8888 and manage associated engineering documentation.\n, • Develop practical, innovative and cost-effective solutions to product-development briefs.\n, • Support prototype manufacture, concept validation, product testing and design refinement.\n, • Apply engineering analysis, including FEA and CFD where appropriate, and manage subcontracted analysis activities.\n, • Work with suppliers to review tooling proposals and coordinate design and project activities.\n, • Plan and deliver assigned projects within agreed time, cost, quality and performance requirements.\n\n \n Essential skills and experience: \n\n • A relevant engineering qualification, preferably a 2:1 bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical or Product Design Engineering.\n, • A minimum of two years’ experience in a mechanical design or product-development role.\n, • Strong 3D CAD capability using Autodesk Inventor or comparable parametric design software.\n, • Experience designing plastic injection-moulded and sheet-metal components for manufacture.\n, • Experience creating and managing complex assemblies and producing engineering drawings to BS 8888.\n, • Knowledge of engineering materials, manufacturing processes, fastening methods and design for manufacture.\n, • Experience developing products for volume or flow-line manufacture and working with suppliers.\n, • Strong planning, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to manage changing priorities and deliver accurate work on time.\n\n \n You can learn more about us here; https://www.volutiongroupplc.com/ \n \n Equal opportunities: All current employees and potential employees are provided equal employment opportunities by Volution Group Plc.
