We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and organised Morning Cook/Chef to join our growing team a Caffe based in Chelmsford
This is a hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for preparing and cooking our breakfast and brunch menu to a consistently high standard while helping ensure the kitchen runs smoothly each day. We’re looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in their food, and works well as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook breakfast and brunch dishes to a high standard.
- Carry out daily food preparation ready for service.
- Ensure all food is presented consistently and meets quality standards.
- Maintain excellent food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness at all times.
- Follow food safety procedures, HACCP guidelines and allergen regulations.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages.
- Assist with stock rotation and deliveries.
- Help reduce food waste through good kitchen organisation.
- Clean kitchen equipment, workstations and food preparation areas.
- Support the wider café team during busy periods.
- Contribute ideas for menu development and seasonal specials where appropriate.
- Open and prepare the kitchen for daily service.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as a Cook or Chef.
- A positive attitude with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work calmly under pressure.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills.
- High standards of cleanliness and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and food safety regulations.
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (preferred but not essential).
- A team player who is dependable, punctual and takes pride in their work.
