Overview
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Chef to prepare and provide high-quality, nutritious meals within a care setting supporting veterans in Worthing, BN11.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing meals that meet residents' needs and preferences, including individual dietary requirements and special diets. You will play an important role in supporting the wellbeing of veterans by ensuring meals are nutritious, well-presented and prepared in a safe, welcoming environment.
You should be confident working independently, managing kitchen duties efficiently, and maintaining excellent standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and food safety at all times.
Certifications / Skills
- Food Safety / Food Hygiene certification
- Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene and safe food handling practices
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Chef, Cook or similar kitchen-based role
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene procedures
- Ability to prepare fresh, nutritious and well-balanced meals
- Experience catering for different dietary requirements, allergies and special diets
- An understanding of the importance of dignity, respect and individual preferences when providing meals within a care environment
- Knowledge of safe food storage, preparation, temperature control and cross-contamination prevention
- Ability to maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen environment
- Good time-management and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a wider care team
- Reliable, professional and respectful when working within a setting providing care and support to veterans
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends where required
- Right to work in the United Kingdom
This role is ideal for an experienced and dependable Chef who takes pride in preparing quality meals and contributing positively to the care, comfort and wellbeing of veterans living within the service.
