You'll be responsible for assembling high quality components and specialist sub-assemblies for our customers across a variety of industries, worldwide. We specialise in the design, manufacture and installation of high quality end of line packaging machinery.For over 40 years, our business has developed from designing and manufacturing small case taping machines to its position today as a leading UK manufacturer and worldwide supplier of end-of-line packaging machines and systems.As our Mechanical Fitter you will be specifically responsible for:Mechanically and pneumatically assembling our range of machinery and subsequent spares orders to a high standardReading, interpreting and working accurately from assembly and pneumatic drawingsRunning field wiring in advance of electrical fittersConducting routine inspections to assess the functionality and condition of returned machineryIdentifying mechanical faults and performing the necessary repairs or replacementsAdhering to safety protocols and industry regulations to maintain a safe working environmentRunning tests on equipment to ensure proper operation after repairs or maintenanceWorking to set time frames and build schedulesIn order to be successful in this role you must have / be:Previous experience in Mechanical Assembly - this is essentialProven experience in building bespoke or special purpose machineryRelevant NVQ/BTEC qualification, or equivalent (ideally)Electrical machine wiring skills and experience of pneumatics would be beneficialGood problem-solving skillsCustomer focus and the drive to work to the highest standards of qualityGood written and verbal communication skillsAble to work to deadlines to meet customer needsComfortable working as part of a teamH&S consciousGood IT skills - able to use Word and OutlookThis role is based on-site at our factory in Biggleswade.We supply all of our Mechanical Fitters with any specialist equipment required to carry out the role but do expect you to provide your own hand tools whenever possible.We supply uniform and provide allowance for safety shoes.If you feel you have the necessary skills and experience to be successful in this role click on APPLY today!No agencies please.TPBN1_UKTJ
